Workflow Systems are designed as custom
applications for integration of core business
operations without the high cost and rigidity of
traditional Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
systems.
Each workflow system is implemented as a business
process automation and support tool at the process
(tactical) level or at the enterprise (strategic)
level. Process level tools are targeted at business
operations to serve production or customer service
operations, for example, and enterprise level tools
are for financial or general management tasks such
as accounts receivable, accounts payable, or
financial management. Implementation, in each case,
is contingent upon a detailed process analysis and
